Italian software company Bending Spoons bought the Boston-based video streaming platform for $233 million in February 2025, and the reductions represent about a third of the company's global headcount. The cuts were expected to roll out between mid-March and the end of July 2025. Bending Spoons, which has a history of acquiring and aggressively restructuring software products, declined to comment on the layoffs.
