Layoff history
Deliveroo cut about 187 jobs in late February 2026 as new owner DoorDash restructured the business following its October 2025 acquisition. DoorDash said it would close Deliveroo's operations in Qatar and Singapore by March 4, 2026, affecting roughly 85 employees, and consolidate Deliveroo's India engineering work. The latter move cut about 102 roles at the Bengaluru hub and left Hyderabad as the sole Indian engineering center, with some Bengaluru staff offered relocation or remote options. DoorDash cited 'a review of country-specific conditions' and said the changes aligned with 'delivering long-term value for customers, merchants, and riders.' It added that it would work with local teams and partners to support affected employees, merchants, consumers and riders through the transition.
Reason: Post-acquisition market exits and engineering consolidation by DoorDash
