Fiverr cut 250 jobs in September 2025, roughly 30% of its workforce, in what CEO Micha Kaufman described as a "painful reset" to transform the freelance marketplace into an AI-first company. In a letter to staff, Kaufman said the company needed to return to "startup mode" to build a leaner operation with fewer management layers and a technology infrastructure built around AI. The cuts touched multiple departments and followed earlier AI product launches including Neo and Fiverr Go. Despite the downsizing, the company had reported Q2 2025 revenue of $108.6 million, up 14.8% year over year, with adjusted EBITDA of $21.4 million. Departing employees received severance packages, extended healthcare, and career transition assistance.
