HealthifyMe has 2 publicly reported layoff rounds on record between December 3, 2022 and April 27, 2024. A total of about 300 employees were affected across these rounds.
Layoff history
HealthifyMe laid off 150 employees, about 27% of its workforce, in late April 2024 in a restructuring that hit the sales and product teams hardest. CEO Tushar Vashist said the cuts were "an unfortunate but an important step" toward achieving EBITDA profitability in India operations within three to four months, while the company also pushed to expand its presence in the US market. The Bengaluru-based fitness and nutrition platform had posted a net loss of Rs 142 crore in FY23, despite a 23% rise in revenue to Rs 228.76 crore. The layoffs came roughly a year after HealthifyMe raised $30 million in pre-Series D funding from LeapFrog Investments and Khosla Ventures. Affected employees received two months' salary, extended health insurance, unused leave encashment, and, in some cases, accelerated stock vesting.
