Layoff history
HelloFresh announced in March 2025 that it would close its Grand Prairie, Texas distribution center, cutting 273 workers effective May 13. The company said it was consolidating Texas operations into its Irving facility as part of a broader effort to "optimize our operational footprint" as the meal kit market normalizes after its pandemic-era surge. HelloFresh's 2024 revenue grew less than 1% year-over-year, and the company has been prioritizing profitability over volume. CFO Christian Gartner noted that direct labor productivity improvements in North America had helped stabilize contribution margins, with site closures part of ongoing cost management. Affected workers were offered financial support and relocation opportunities where eligible. The Grand Prairie closure followed a separate cut of 564 Arizona jobs in January 2025.
