Layoff history
A restructuring built around automation cost roughly 1,000 employees their jobs at Livspace, about 12% of the workforce, in a process the Bengaluru-based home interiors unicorn disclosed around February 20, 2026. The company tied the cuts to the "integration of advanced AI agents and automation" across sales, operations, design, and marketing, with roles it described as manual phased out as automated systems took over. The reductions played out over roughly six months. Cofounder and India CEO Saurabh Jain also left to pursue personal interests, writing that "sometimes you have to close a meaningful chapter, not because the story ends, but because a bigger one is ready to begin." Backed by investors including KKR, Ingka (IKEA's parent), TPG Growth, Goldman Sachs, and Jungle Ventures, Livspace has raised more than $450 million to date.
