Dutch health-technology company Philips said in January 2023 that it would cut about 6,000 jobs worldwide by 2025, with roughly half coming in 2023. The figure added to an earlier round of about 4,000. CEO Roy Jakobs said the company needed to simplify its operations and improve both execution and profitability. The decision followed a costly recall of its sleep-apnea devices and a stretch of supply-chain problems that had weighed on results.
