The cuts fell mainly on marketing and sales functions. Cofounder Abhimanyu Saxena said the move was not performance-driven, framing it instead as a structural change: "we have designed a new way of working to be able to achieve sustainable growth while delivering the best learning experience." The decision came against a complicated financial backdrop. Scaler posted 388% revenue growth in FY23, reaching Rs 317 crore, but losses climbed 90% in the same period to Rs 330 crore. The company had raised more than $75 million in funding. Affected employees were told they would receive support to ensure a smooth transition, though specific severance terms were not disclosed.
